  • Overview

    GMRE is seeking a Help Desk Technician to support a possible upcoming contractual effort.


    • Minimum capabilities to perform helpdesk technical support task require with:
      • Windows XP, Windows 7, and Windows 10 Secure Host Baseline (SHB)
      • Microsoft Active Directory, account creation/maintenance, and hardware/software testing and troubleshooting
      • Windows DNS and DHCP principles, remote desktop, and be able to image workstations through variety of mechanisms (Ghost, Preboot Execution Environment (PXE)
    • Create individual user accounts, security groups, and computer accounts using Microsoft Active Directory
    • Install, test, troubleshoot, and configure software on PCs
    • Test and troubleshoot hardware on PCs
    • Replace hardware
    • Test and troubleshoot workstation to network connectivity to include fiber optic and copper (RJ45) connectivity
    • Maintain inventory through user Inventory Control System (ICS); transfer equipment to appropriate Equipment Custodian (EC)
    • Install, test, troubleshoot and configure client machines with AV, HBSS (frameworks and Data Loss Prevention tools)
    • LogRhythm connectors, SolarWinds connectors, Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), etc.
    • Stay abreast of current technologies
    • Install, test, troubleshoot and configure old operating systems such as Windows XP, Windows NT, and Windows 2000
    • PXE new computers using MCCR managed process/images
    • Install, test, troubleshoot, and configure Windows 10 PCs


    • Must be able to work in the U.S. and be able to obtain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance
    • BA/BS desired in Information Technology or related field
    • 2 - 5+ years of related experience
    • Experience with Cross-platform (Linux/Unix OS) and Macintosh products (iphones, ipads, mini’s, etc.)
    • Experience Windows XP, Windows 7, and Windows 10 Secure Host Baseline (SHB)
    • Familiar/Experience with Air Force (AF)/Department of Defense (DoD) regulations and user Operating Instructions on Cyber Security best practices and policies
    • Strong communication skills
